About Oversumo

Oversumo is a former Overwatch companion app on its journey to rebrand itself as a PC Building Enthusiast Publisher.

History of Oversumo

Oversumo was a companion app for Overwatch, the critically acclaimed and massively popular game. It could help you learn the strengths and weaknesses of each character. Furthermore, if you identified yourself using your user account, you could keep a complete record of the games you’ve played, won, lost, etc.

It was designed to help gamers improve their skills and performance in Overwatch. The app provides users with in-depth information on the game’s heroes, maps, and game modes, as well as tips and strategies from top players.

A Bit about Overwatch

If you don’t know what Overwatch is, here is a short intro: Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. It was released in May 2016 for all consoles. The game is a highly stylized team-based shooter set on a near-future earth.

The game quickly became popular due to its unique gameplay, characters, and art style. The game has received critical acclaim, with many calling it one of the best first-person shooters.

I personally had logged in over a thousand hours on the game and was addicted to it for some time. Oversumo was only second to Overwatch during this time. I used it to keep track of everything, from my performances to learning new tricks. But like every great thing, my time with Overwatch and Oversumo came to an end.

I, along with many in the gaming community, had lost all interest in the game. However, contrary to common belief, Overwatch is not dead, or at least yet. Despite the release of Overwatch 2 coming closer, the first installment is going strong. While the sequel has been delayed several times, its beta version should launch by 2022.

What Happened to Oversumo?

Oversumo was a great app for tracking the stats of Overwatch, a widely popular game.

However, the app breaches certain policies which could compromise some security issues on phones. As a result, people who were using the app got alerts from the Google and Apple app stores.

Both the app stores warned their user to uninstall the app for those security issues.

Eventually, Oversumo announced that they would shut down their app from 01/05/2019.

However, they kept the app open for another 9 days and shut down the app completely on 10/05/2019. And, it was gone from both android and apple app stores.

Since then, Oversumo users started facing weird issues. These include:

  • App screen keeps loading but gets nowhere
  • App was not tracking the stats.
  • App was showing wrong stats, etc.

The officials of the Oversumo app haven’t shared any detailed information whatsoever.

What’s Happening Now at Oversumo?

There’s a general lack of resources on the web about PC building.

There are 2 vastly experienced authors who have years of experience in PC building and writing for this industry. Along with them, we’ve got 1 publishing expert and 1 SEO expert to provide the best possible experience for our readers.

However, Oversumo’s audience is getting larger every day. And the appreciation from our audience is forcing us to expand the team even further.
